Enterprise and Elvis use a system of checking files out and in to ensure that only one person makes changes at a time.
Opening a file for editing automatically checks it out. Content Station will show a pencil next to any file you have checked out and are editing and a lock next to a file that someone else has checked out. Hover over the lock or check the "In Use By" column to see who has a file checked out.
Once a file is checked out, it may be saved (i.e., using the Save command in InDesign or the Save button in the Multi-Channel Text Editor) without checking it back in.
The check-in process will always bring up the properties window for updating statuses, routing and other information about the file.
To close a file without saving changes, abort the checkout. Admins can abort checkouts on behalf of other users in emergencies.
